The iPod conspiracy

OK i have to admit, i am sick to death of hearing about winning an iPod... “Learn Natural Medicine and get an iPod for a limited time” heck i even heard you can win an iPod if you become a Yoga instructor... what is the world coming to? the original MP3 players from way back was the Rio's(which i fondly had until the Nomad from Creative came out) if you want a “Real” MP3 player then you'd want to be getting yourself a Nomad Jukebox Zen or eqivalent... it wont cost you half the price of the unit if a battery dies (and you know eventually they would). I've got a Zen Xtra and it hasnt died (nor has my old Jukebox).

So all those who want a “real” mp3 player that nobody else in the world can eventually win take a look here. But those PR/Marketting people at Apple are prooving that they know how to market their products:-)

DevNews: CodeSMART 2005 for VB6 / DataDynamics hugely anticipated update to ActiveBar 2.5

Now for some VB6 news...

AxTools: CodeSMART 2005 for VB6 is out!

Just got a notification that those lovely folks at AxTools have released CodeSMART 2005 for VB6. This new release has got some very funky new features that bring the ease of VS.NET to the VB6 IDE, and no i'm not getting paid to advertise this (or incentives) go download a copy and see... if those VS.NET style tabs (based on Steve McMahon's VS.NET Tabs? they inhibit the same/similar redraw issues)dont make your life easy enough to warrant a purchase their CodeAnalyser and Formatter should...

DataDynamics Activebar 2.5.2.118 is out..

I had to delay FixPack 2 for HotHTML 3 until DD released this update with the annoying “Going in the designer, not making any changes and saving a project is causing the *.frx and *.tb2 file to grow“ bug along with several focus related issues. If your a developer thats using Activebar 2 then its highly suggested that you download this fix as your layouts will indeed grow with every save (mine was at 8.3MB and went down to 734Kb... ) ofcourse using PECompact meant that it had a minimal impact to users compared to a naked non-compressed executable.

My post on the support forums about existing issues in this build.

MS News: Whidbey 2005 Express October/.NET Rocks Whidbey Episode/Windows XP Partner Pack

Exorcism

I watched “The Exorcist: The beginning” yesterday with a few friends, co-incidentally it wasnt because of the John Safron vs God episode (which stirred up a few people)nor related to my religious beliefs or new found interest in exorcisms...but it was quite riverting, and scary... we had two chics with us that screamed out so loud on more than one occasion we wondered if they we're being possed or something... (ok harsh joke but it was funny) if your a fan of the Exorcist this puts into perspective where it all began.

I'm going to go low-key on religon on this blog to avoid offending anyone like a couple that commented on the JSvG post.

been a long time, I shouldn't have left ya without a dope beat/to step ta...

Well i was being a typical moron trying to see why i havent been able to get DF mail for quite a while - like reply notifications etc (So if i was meant to reply and i havent its because i never know when people reply)... As it turns out after pulling apart our own mailserver at wsoftware.biz its probably something wrong with Jame's implementation of the emailing out(malformed or not RFC822 Complaint) so now its a little bit of a wait till james comes back to fix it...

I used the blogs as a means of testing it (The email my password feature) to see if anything will go through... i kinda forgot that it resets your pw when you do so in the end i was locked out of hte blogs for a few days...
