Hidden Leonardo Paintings Discovered by Scientists

Got bitten by the Davinci Code bug? Keep remembering Leonardo for some-reason? Have nightmares about the "other" Leo (DiCaprio)? Well now witness the greatest coverup in history by Leonardo himself for the artsy-fartsy crowd:
Source: TimesOnline(UK)

Beneath one of Leonardo da Vinci’s most famous works have been revealed to the public for the first time after scientists discovered the provocative images under a thick layer of paint.

A bloody skirmish between knights, a clutch of figures rebuilding a ruined temple and even an elephant were carefully laid out by Leonardo in the preparatory “under-drawing” for his Adoration of the Magi.

In the version of the painting known to the world, in which much of the underdrawing is reproduced, these elements have been hidden.
View the site to see the pictures, quite extraordinary - and good timing too.

If you have seen the Davinci code trailer, you may pickup that when the guy goes "witness the greatest coverup in history" you see a shot of Tom Hanks with a wig... Co-incidence?

FIX: Outlook 2007 and ActiveSync 3.8 dont seem to be compatible

Outlook 2007 Beta 2 doesnt play nicely with ActiveSync v3.8 (atleast for me) so if you find that your contacts/calendar are not synchronising upgrade to ActiveSync v4.1 of ActiveSync which fixed this for me.

On a side note, I'm loving Office 2007 all my previous grudges about performance lag's are now fixed, things are way more mature (as you'd expect) and I'm even starting to use Office's Word & Excel more... The UI will take some getting used to, but once you do start using it you may even come across stuff you had no idea existed or somethings that are just "there" instead of having to click around! You'll wonder why they hadnt implemented it earlier or never want to return to pre-Office 2007.

The updates made to Outlook's Calendar are also lovely, although I do have issues with new-mail notifications not firing (Bugreport) at times and some rules causing crashes (I've got too many I think)

MyToys: Rancilio Silvia, Rancilio Rocky Espresso Machines

Something a little different, I bought an Espresso machine today (excuse: for my parents, reality: I love coffee) after a week of solid googling and talking to random Barista's at cafe's. It was a tough call but here were the top 3 contenders:
  1. Rancilio Silva -> 15 Bar (Brass Boiler)
  2. Gaggia Classic -> 17 Bar (Brass internals? Aluminium Boiler)
  3. Saeco Via Venezia -> 15 Bar (Stainless Steel Boiler)
Now lets clear something up first, I am in *no-way* experienced in Espresso Machines, so I had a few friends (thanks!) & Google telling me what to look for. At the start I thought the "Bars" we're the standard benchmark (like a processor in a system/Kw of power in a car) but alas its only the start.

The Saeco was later written off because of its stainless steel boiler, which left the Rancilio and Gaggia and seeing the following the Rancilio had I opted to buy that unit. It wasnt easy finding a store - most had sold out of units and had a 2-3 week wait and me, I never wait that long. Eventually I came across Mocopan in Preston (Melbourne) who had a fresh 108 units of the Rancilio sent from Italy on Thursday. So off I went, asked several stupid questions and came out of the store with the Rancilio Silvia, Rancilio Rocky (Grinder) and the base thing to make it look cool. All up a nice $1300 investment (the fine ladies at Mocopan threw in some free coffee and cups, jug and I bought some Cappuccino mugs to get me going).

Rancilio Silvia Side-Shot

Now I realise I'll have to learn how to use Ms Silvia and learn what buttons to push to get her steaming and produce some creamy yummy coffee (hmmm...)... SO I've started yet another new topic on this blog titled n00b Espresso Extraodinaire! to document my journey at learning the tricks of the trade of using an Espresso machine. I'll try and keep that updated when I start using the machine more regularly:-)

Update on Zeus and our new Rabbit Fluffy!

Its been a while since i posted anything about our beloved Zeus - the Australian Customs Pup we adopted. We'll the once innocent-cute-little-pup is now a naughty-cuter-big-pup. He's grown so much compared to the older photo's we've got of him.

Notice how he's eaten through his doggy tag (the pink tag on his collar!)
He's scoring very well on his tests, and loves to chew things up, just today he chewed through his leech (into three pieces now!) and loves to destroy things. So far:
  • *ALL* the toys Customs and we have given (Soft toys, hard chewable toys)
  • Chewed through fences like the one in this photo
  • Chewed through lots of clothes and more-so pegs before we fenced that area off (see above shot)
  • Infiltrated the fenced off areas near the fence, infact he eats through the mesh and loves to pull out our sprinkler systems.
  • Eaten countless pots
  • Chewed parts of his Kennel plastic
  • The comfy cushion we bought for him has no fluff inside (one day I awoke to find the entire backyard full of while fluff, I thought it had snowed!) He still takes it around with him - its like his blanky - and sleeps on the non-fluffy cushion:D
  • Eaten a few slippers - he loves to steal them from us and make us chase him.
He's also picked up the habbit of moaning & whinging alot if he doesnt get enough attention, its cute but annoying sometimes. Loves to go on walks (he's so excited when he sees his leash that his paws cant stop moving), same goes with food.

Fluffy our new Pet Rabbit

Whats the one thing you dont want to give your kids during Easter? A monkey? A Chimp? Nope, a rabbit! Mom brought a rabbit from work - work-college gives away rabbits every year for easter and mom's been promising for a while to accept one. So we named her fluffy. She's a bit of a scardy-cat (as all young rabbits are) but loves to eat food. Some photo's uploaded on Flickr. Zeus loves to bark at Fluffy when she goes past him but its starting to wear out. We built Fluffy a house as well (well dad did, i'll post shots of that later - knowing me in a few weeks/months:D)

Eclipse Modification Photos finally posted!

Yes I know I'm late uploading these, but trust me i've been busy;-)

Uploaded some photos of the Subaru Liberty (or Legacy outside of Australia), the Eclipse AVN6000, the modified front fascia and some exterior shots as well to Flickr.
